garden

The Mtubatuba garden is a place to reawaken the soul, where small local animals live blissfully free in an unspoilt paradise of two hectares.

With hot summer's days almost all year round, indigenous trees stretch their branches to the sky, whilst indigenous flowers like Forest Bulbs bloom beautifully to light up the lush garden. The sublime Litchi Orchid, among the other indigenous flowers, grow wild and comfortably amongst a large host of mango and banana trees.

Guests can recline beside a small stream flowing through the garden and put up their feet whilst watching ducks frolic in the pond beside them. Exceptional displays of natural rarities is also a major draw card and a must see - the rare Palm Nut Vulture can often be seen soaring gracefully over the vlei to feed on Raffia Palms, whilst the vast array of bird species, like the Weaver, nests in the surrounding trees.

At Mtubatuba we take great pride in preserving our beautiful garden surrounds, thus we uphold very high 'green principles' to keep our wetland paradise preserved for future generations. Our conservation efforts include recycling 'grey' water to replenish the garden and feed the wetland; feeding all effluence into an energy efficient drainage system; collecting fresh rainwater and making an example our very successful compost system.

Mtubatuba's garden is a true spoil for all nature lovers alike.
